A Huge Thank You & Some Great News One of you said this to me one day and no truer words have been said to me when I have been having some tough issues to struggle with. I think it is appropriate for today. As many of you know, I’ve been secretive about a possible writing job and I can now officially jump for joy & squee to my hearts content. It doesn’t have to be so secret anymore: As of today, I am officially writing for Bitch Magazine. (Yes, you heard right.) I could never have done any of this without all of you. I really, truly mean that. You have all kept my spirit alive when it comes to writing about sex, class, race, orientation, immigration, QPOC issues and so much more. When I asked for help on how to pitch ideas to an editor several of you got the word out to get me the help I needed. Do you know how much that means to me? It means the damn world. Thank you to everyone who reblogged that call out for help and more specifically thank you times a million to the following amazing POC who helped me with their nuggets of wisdom: karnythia, bana05 and milkeemountainmama Other great news bits happening in my life: -The college turned out to have put me on academic probation without grounds. My gpa is too high & a counselor at a sister college was just as confused/outraged. She stated I can’t be put on it simply due to chronic illness having been the cause of me dropping my classes a couple of years back. My records have been set straight now! -My Tia came out of surgery alive and as well as she can be. Her breast cancer will continue to be treated with chemotherapy from now on. -I got the $ to buy a new battery for my car. I think I should thank the universe for this. In general, things are not perfect and my health is still up and down, but I have so much hope and so much happiness that it’s overwhelming. Again, once things are a lot more stable you will see more being posted here. Thank you thank you times a thousand. Much love, N.H.
